Firepower

September 28, 2007 on 11:18 am | In life | No Comments

For most general purposes having airsoft guns work just fine for most things. My friend’s daughter got one for her 10th birthday last year and loves to use it for target practice. The kid is GOOD too. Her parents set up a little target range on the back of their property and she goes out there and shoots the paper target then brings it back for us to see the cluster of shots. I wish I was that good of a shot. My only hope is to be right on top of a target. Air guns can still pack quite a whollop though and it’s important to be careful when using any type of firearm. They can even be used for some types of hunting, and will do a good job in security realms too. It’s fun to see all the styles they come in as well. You can get replicas of many types of handguns, rifles and such.

Quieting the ‘inner laziness’

September 28, 2007 on 11:04 am | In life | No Comments

I did my 2 mile walk this morning all by my lonesome. The walkman did it’s job nicely though. Kept me company, and moving at a clip. In fact, I upped my speed from a 24 minute mile to a 15 min mile and completed the 2 miles in 30 minutes. I’m actually beginning to consider doing a 1 mile walk inbetween the 2 mile days. I had upped the 2 miles twice a week, to 2 miles (or 2.5 depending on which direction I go that day) three times a week. Maybe on the ‘off’ days I’ll do a mile as well. I love the way I feel when it’s over, but it’s the getting up to do it, my mind comes up with a million excuses why I shouldn’t go. LOL Gotta find a way to gag my ‘inner laziness’.

Locked Boxes

cbu mailboxes has fantastic mailboxes for businesses and they also have really beautiful, yet ultra-functional locking mailboxes to insure the most privacy and security. I really like the idea of a locking mailbox. Even out here in the country things happen. In fact, maybe more so because no one is around to see it when it does. I need a new box though, that’s for sure. Right now our box is tied up with baling twine and wood braces because someone plowed into the post and knocked it over. That happens a lot too out here. It’s a wide open street but for some reason drivers can’t manage to stay on it. And when they hit the mailbox at 80 mph it does some damage.

Get The Most Out Of Life

Progesterone is a really important hormone that women can be depleating and need a boost with. A simple cream is all that’s necessary to help boost progesterone and help elivate cramps from PMS and perimenopause amongst other things. Renaissance progesterone cream is sold over the counter and contains the highest level of progesterone allowed by the FDA. It also contains Aloe Vera gel for a soothing application that feels great on your skin. Having low progesterone levels can cause early onset of perimenopause, horrible headaches, heavy bleeding during menstration, cramps, excessive PMS, and many other things. Don’t let something so simple to solve get in the way of your enjoyment in life.

What To do

Everything seems so much easier when the weather is nice. Today and yesterday the temperatures were cool while the sun was still out making things bright and cheerful. I love the fall. The animals seem to like it fine too. The cooler weather has them running and kicking up their heels. It’s fun to watch. I still have quite a few minis to sell. I’ve decided to sell all but four of my ‘pets’ that I’ve had since the beginning. The rest I want to find good homes for. I’ve thought briefly about getting a nice well-broke riding horse again, but you know, I’m trying hard to get my body back, I don’t know if I want to risk it by getting on a 1200 pound piece of muscle that can put me in the dirt. I’ve come to realize that as I get older, that dirt gets harder and harder.

Take Away The Pain

September 27, 2007 on 2:17 pm | In life | No Comments

With all the exercising and walking I’m doing lately there’s a lot of pain that goes hand-in-hand with it. Muscles ache, get strained, sore, tired… I’ve found a terrific product for topical pain releif though that takes all that away quickly with no mess, or smell. Freeze It comes in either a roll-on, or gel making application easy even in hard to reach places. If you have sore, or tired muscles, try Freeze It and see what a difference it will make.

Walk, Man!

Well, I lost my walking partner to other life issues and so I have to do my walking Friday all alone. I did that before but it’s not as much fun without someone along for the pain. So, I splurged. I didn’t really have the money, but I went out this morning and bought a walkman. Yeah, an old-fashioned walkman. Funny how that’s ‘old-fashioned’ now. I was planning on buying myself an Ipod when I reached my first short-term goal. It really isn’t that far away, but I can’t really afford an Ipod right now, and they’re kind of a pain in the butt to deal with anyway, although you can fit a lot more music on them. I remember when CD walkman’s were all the rage, and before them, cassette walkman’s. Funny how time just flies on by leaving old technology in the dust. You can still buy the moldy oldies though, hey I even saw a cassette type walkman there too, although only one, while there are still many versions of the CD walkman available. I bought a waist-belt holder for the player too and got home and found the machine didn’t fit in the front part where it’s supposed to go. (Ugh) It did fit in the inside zipper part though, and I just have to leave it open a bit for the headphone wire to come out and it’s all good. So I’m already to do my walking alone on Friday!

Restricted Access

Do you know what collapsible bollards are? I’ll tell you, but if you have a business where parking is at a premium you probably already know. It is a post that you can plant to preserve your parking area, or restrict access to areas where you do not want automobiles such as walking, biking, or riding paths. They can even be equipped with a riser that can be lowered and lifted to allow or disallow passage for vehicles when you determine the necessity. If you need to control the flow of traffic, or completely restrict it, they are a must have. They work great at the entrances, and exits to equestrian paths, and bike trails.

Back In The Swing

I’ve been having a great deal of difficulty getting through the change of season ‘blahs’. It really doesn’t even make sense because I love this time of year. The crisp air is more fun to be out in doing chores, and messing with the animals, and even better for exercising. I can actually go on walks without swimming in sweat, and workout in the house without having a heat stroke. Still, it brings on a bit of the blues. That’s finally lifting now, and today I feel much better than I have in a few days. Perhaps I can get back into my normal swing.

By The Time I Get To Phoenix

September 23, 2007 on 2:45 pm | In life | No Comments

Arizona has some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, and Phoenix real estate is probably the most sought after around that area. A friend of mine goes to Arizona every year for the Arabian World show and it’s amazing in that part of the state. I love hot, sunny, and did I mention hot places and if I could convince Bob that ‘hot’ is the way to go I’d live there. He likes the idea of ocean views better though. So it looks like the only time I’ll ‘get to’ Phoenix is passing through on a yearly basis as a helper for my friend.
