Perfect Way To Live
July 1, 2007 on 10:08 am | In life, work, vacations | 2 CommentsA friend of mine who lives up in the northern suburbs of Chicago close to where I used to live spends half of the year there that used to be her and her husband’s full-time home until they retired. Now they alternate between the Chicago area in the summers and their Orlando vacation home by the beach in the winters. That’s really such a perfect way to live if you can do it. I don’t evny her packing twice a year. Since it’s such a long vacation they have to pack almost everything. They also had to buy a second set of everything permanent for the second house. Things you wouldn’t want to have to pack up twice a year like dishware, and furniture, beding and such. It’s worth it though. I’d love to spend the winters far from the snow of Illinois down by the beach in Florida.
Pure Heaven
June 28, 2007 on 8:41 am | In life, work, vacations | 2 CommentsBetween all the escapes this week, and the extreme heat and humidity I can’t think of anything I’d rather do than go on a cruise. As vacations go cruises have to be the most relaxing, and complete way to unwind and forget all about the troubles left behind at home, or work. You don’t have to do anything, just lay back on a deck chair and enjoy the breezes, listen to the lapping water hitting the hull, stare at the bright blue sky, and eat. If you WANT to do things there are always various forms of entertainment going on at any given moment, but for me it would be pure heaven just to lay on the deck and let the sounds of the ocean sweep all the aches and headaches away.
Sandcastles and Dreams

Wouldn’t you love to create a castle like this? You can. It’s easy, it’s fun, and it’s all click and drag. What a cool way to spend a few minutes creating a fantasy. There are all kinds of pieces you can choose from to create your masterpiece, and fun little add ons like the birds, and pail and shovel. Flags, and starfish and other little trinkets you’d find on the beach of your dreams too. Let your imagination run wild as you create your ‘dream castle in the sand’. Just click on the link to Build A Sandcastle of your very own. You can even email the card to friends, or save it as a wallpaper. It makes a great relaxing wallpaper that will surely bring a smile as you fantasize about that great vacation you can create to build your very own sandcastle for real. My idea of the ideal vacation is one that I can spend lounging on a sandy beach soaking up the sun and making castles as the waves lap at the shores. There’s nothing more soothing than the sound of water rushing up to the sand and slowly running back out again. Walking along the edge of the water as your feet sink into the cool sand, and letting the waves rush up and hit your ankles as you walk, or wading out into the majestic blue waters. The ocean has a feeling of power, and serenity all at once. Some vacations you have to rest up from when you get home. A vacation at the beach is true relaxation on a vacation that leaves you invigorated.
The Only Way To Relax On Vacation
June 2, 2007 on 11:07 am | In life, work, vacations | 2 CommentsTraveling to Florida is a lot of fun. It’s actually one of the vacation spots I don’t just dream about, I actually go to. I love Florida. I have a lot of family on the Gulf side, but I prefer to vacation on the Ocean side. All the real activity is over there. Miami, Orlando–all the really great places, and who could forget Disney World? It’s no secret though that I’m not fond of hotels. It’s much nicer to book a Florida rental vacation. I’ve never looked back. The only time I stay in hotels now is if I’m on a business trip and it’s a pass-through. A cramped hotel room just doesn’t make for a very relaxing vacation.
See Europe
May 30, 2007 on 8:12 am | In life, work, vacations | 3 CommentsWouldn’t you just love to travel to Europe on vacation? I dream of it. There are so many romantic spots in Europe that I’d love to see. Some I’d just love to go to relax at. Canary Islands travel spots would be one of those types. Or a package to Rome, or Ireland. Cheap Holidays can be found by the hundreds at holidayhypermarket.co.uk to all sorts of beautiful European hot spots. Greece, Sri Lanka, you name it, they have affordable packages to anywhere you can dream of wanting to go. I’ve never been outside of the States and just once I’d love to see Europe. With prices like that I could afford to.
Wild Vacation
May 25, 2007 on 9:35 am | In life, work, vacations | 804 CommentsWow when you think about exotic vacations nothing can quite compare to going on a Safari. I’d love to go on a Namibia hunting safari and just experience the thrill of it. I’m not a great shot so hubby would have to do the actual hunting, but he’d just love that. For me, just seeing the leopards, elephants, lions, baboons, and other creatures only seen here in zoos running free in their native environment would be amazing. Enjoying game meat at dinner time around a campfire.

Look at the horns on that animal!
T. Jeffrey Safari Company has all types of safari packages, even ones in New Mexico, and Mexido if you can’t afford to travel abroad.
Check out this unbelievable pronghorn antelope in New Mexico

As much as I’d love the 8 day safari in Africa the 2 day hunt in New Mexico would probably be easier to manage time wise while still being exotic and fascinating. Some day though…

Sail Away
May 25, 2007 on 8:33 am | In life, work, vacations | No CommentsI have always wanted to go on a cruise. Before we farmed it never happened because we had small kids, and although most cruises are well suited to family style vacations, we just didn’t have the money. Once the kids were older, and we had a little more cash we didn’t have the time because we were so often tied down to the farm. The closest I’ve come is a four hour cruise on lake Michigan on a luxury liner. That was heavenly, but now it’s time for the real deal.
This winter after everyone is done milking, I want to go on a real cruise for my vacation this year. A Norwegian Cruise would be amazing, I’ve never seen that part of the world. Maybe a Bahama, or Hawaiian Cruise… I love hot weather, and sandy beaches. I know what it will end up being though… hubby has always wanted to take an Alaskan Cruise. That would be magnificient too… but in the winter which is the only time we can possibly get away… burrrrrrr… my vote is still Bermuda.
